Relax and Spa Hotel Astoria

This is a 5 star Austria wellness hotel that has some excellent facilities. I’ve been there several months ago, and I must say I was surprised by the quality of everything: rooms, food, service, spa, massage, swimming pool, etc. I really enjoyed myself and I actually made friends with the people working there. Of course, I am aware of the fact that they are paid to be friendly and to always have a smile on their face, but these people really seemed like they were genuinely friendly and joyful.

Their spa is called the “Green Spa” and it occupies an area of about 1500 square meters, and their really nice wellness ideas are put into practice with panache. They have things like Finnish saunas, Turkish baths, Chocolate Spa, a couple of solariums, even private spa suites with private work areas and a private Banja, jacuzzi, you name it. Nothing is missing there, and you can really unwind and relax. In just a few days spent there, I already felt like a new man. So if you go one day to Austria, remember what I said about this Kitzbuhel hotel and try it for yourself.

Nowadays, the game of golf is one of the most selective games in the world. There is a joke flying around saying that “you have to be rich in order to play golf”. Well, this joke might have some true foundation. The TV and media make us believe that we can play golf or be a member of a golf club only we have a huge bank accounts.

Golf tourism in Europe has a value of approximately 6,5 billion euros, of which almost 50% come from western Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Austria). In Europe, the number of people that play golf doubled since 1985 while the number of those in USA remained the same as the one from 2000.

Almost every month we find out about another golf resort that is under construction somewhere in Europe. As long as there are people who love and can afford to play golf there will be people who are willing to invest in this industry.

After all, let’s be honest, we all enjoy a nice weekend at a great European golf resort, right?

The water park is the place where you could have a great family time. Your kids will definitely be grateful if you take them to a water park and your relationship with them will grow stronger. Honestly, who doesn’t want to see his kids laughing and having fun?

Though, a day at the water park could go wrong, therefore you should respect some advices regarding kids and water parks:

  1. Kids should not swallow water. Park water contains lots of chlorine that could make your kid sick if he swallows it. Check out the pH readings that are posted everywhere inside the water park.
  2. Water parks usually have height or age restrictions. This restrictions should be taken seriously.
  3. Toddlers should not be allowed to play near deep pools. Usually they have special pools and play areas organized for them, where they would be safe.
  4. At any moment, an adult should watch over young children, especially if they are playing near the water or even swimming.
  5. Never split up. However, if this happens, make sure you’ve set a meeting time and place.

The former stronghold of Dresden was meant to defend the city. The front wall is still preserved, so tourists can admire the old architecture. It is the work of architect Matthäus Daniel Poppelmann, employed by Augustus the Strong in 1710 to build the palace. The emperor had the desire, along with other great emperors of the time, to exceed the famous Palace of Versailles in splendor and luxury.

Unfortunately, during the Second World War, more specifically in 1945, the Palace was bombed. People of Dresden did not want to lose the heritage left by ancestors and decided to rebuild Zwinger Palace in the old style, not in a style that was specific to socialist times. When the facade was rebuilt, the architects were inspired by drawings and photographs.

The Palace has 4 main rooms that can be visited and where are exposed things of great interest. In the Paintings Gallery of the old Masters, tourists can admire the famous paintings of Raphael, Rubens and Canaletto. In the Arms Room are exposed arms and armor from the 16 and 17 centuries. In the Room of Mathematics and Physics tourists will hear a history of the maps and they will admire the scientific instruments used to measure weight, distance, height or position of the sun. In addition, astronomy and optics are sciences that find their application in this room.
